Festival love from the USA
Safe continues its marathon festival run by being selected for the New Hope Film Festival in Pennsylvania, USA. The Festival Chairman and CEO had these lovely words to say about Safe in an email to Julietta: ' We're honored to exhibit your film at New Hope Film Festival! The judges have been raving about the quality of your work, and in fact one is so hooked, she's watched it a number of times.' A very good start to 2013!

In other news, Safe wins 2nd prize for Best Film at the Made in Melbourne Film Festival! (beaten only by the Wilding). The film will also tour Europe in the European Film Festival!
Fun all 'round!
Safe picks up Best Sound Design at the Canberra Short Film Festival and will soon screen in St Louis! The Branch has been selected to screen at Sandfly Film Festival and Sam's Gold is offered international distribution before the film even premieres!
September loves Safe
September's been a good month for Safe and it's only just started! The film is a finalist in the Atom Awards (http://atomawards.org/?page_id=7&film_id=89), a finalist in the Canberra Short Film Festival (http://www.csff.com.au/finalists/open-national-2012-finalists/) and was so well received at ishorts in Prague that it has been invited on a regional tour of the Czech Republic! :D

Julietta's work has picked up two awards at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Safe was awarded a Platinum Remi Award and The Branch a Gold Remi in the category of Dramatic-Original shorts.

Julietta's short film script ACOUSTIC has been selected as one of three finalists in the FirstGlance Screenplay Competition in Philadelphia (to be decided in early 2012).

Sam's Story brought to life!
Along with Producer Matt Reeder and Writer Rebecca Clarke, Julietta is a recipient of Screen NSW's Emerging Filmmaker's Fund for their project SAM'S STORY. She looks forward to directing the film in 2012!

Vegas baby, Vegas!
One of Julietta's short film scripts has been selected as a finalist for the Vegas Cine Fest screenwriting prize.
The prize is worth over $14000 US and will mean that the film will be produced in the States.
Partying with Ewan McGregor's grandma! (a.k.a. Edinburgh International Film Festival's Talent Lab!)
Julietta has just returned from the Edinburgh International Film Festival's Talent Lab where she was one of only 35 filmmakers worldwide selected to participate.

At the Talent Lab, Julietta had the opportunity to discuss her work in 1-2-1 meetings with high profile industry insiders; attend industry seminars and take part in a pitching event. There were also some entertaining fringe benefits such as attending the premiere and after-party of Ewan McGregor's latest film PERFECT SENSE (the lovely man took his grandma as his date) and learning traditional Scottish dance at a Ceilidh (where she was literally spun off her feet!).
